Ans : FSG stands for Financial Statement Generator. As the name indicates you use this to generate various financial statement like Balance Sheet ,Income Statement, Cash Flow statement, Profit and Loss Account etc.
2) Why are FSGs Needed ?
Ans : There are a number of GL reports defined in the GL module . But there are no reports for Balance sheet or Profit and loss account .No. Each company presents their balance sheet and Income statement differently. So it is necessary to define these FSG reports to suit your requirements.
3) Who defines FSGs ?
Ans: Mainly functional consultants or business users with the help of functional consultants
4)What are the components of FSG ?
Ans : FSG has 5 components out of which 2 are required . They are
1)Row Set
2)Column set.
The three other components are

5)Row order
Instead of defining an FSG from bottom up we will modify an existing FSG which makes the task easy to understand for anyone trying to define it for the first time.
Row Set : A Row Set defines the format and content of the rows in an FSG report.
Column set : A column set defines the format and content of the columns in an FSG report.
Content set : A content set is used to define to generate hundreds of similar reports in a single run by assigning a content set to a report request.
Display set : A display set defines to produce report variations which omit sensitive information or which include information normally not included in a report.
Row order : Row order is used to to control how detail rows appear in your report.
